A home inspection is only as thorough and accurate as the home inspector you hire and will only identify the problems that the individual home inspector's knowledge and experience level can recognize. The inspector you choose to perform your inspection will make a huge difference when it comes to the quality of your report and making decisions about the true condition of your home.
Biography
I began my professional career with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Department of Environmental Protection where after thirteen years of service I attained the position of Senior Environmental Engineer.
During the late 80's, I worked as an Environmental Consultant and Project Manager for the Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering design firm, E. J. Flynn Engineers.
In 1992, I founded Certified Inspection Associates and voluntarily joined the American Society of Home Inspectors. Members of the Society must prove their competence and professionalism through extensive inspection and examination requirements. When Massachusetts home inspector licensing became effective in 2002, existing inspectors were "Grandfathered" and a competency exam was not required. Since that time I have inspected over 3,000 homes in Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Falmouth, MA and completed over 300 hours of Home Inspection continuing education.
I am currently an Authorized Education Provider for the State Board of Registration of Home Inspectors, a Certified Home Inspector by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), No.117808, a licensed Massachusetts Home Inspector, No. 76 and a National Radon Safety Board, Certified Radon Measurement Specialist, NRSB 2SS0010.
I have also served ASHI-NE twice as Chairman of Education (2003, 2004) and Member of the Board of Directors (2005). In 2004 I was honored to receive the Member of the Year Award for "Exemplary Work in Education".
